Livermore Vintage Go Event

Dear all,

I am making this announcement for our Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory go club. All of us at the LLNL go club hope that our go-playing friends in the San Francisco Bay area can join us on Sat. 9/15/2007 in Livermore California. The details of the event follows,

Time:
10:00 AM -- 5:00 PM, Sat. 9/15/2007

Place:
1508 Wetmore Road, Livermore, CA (type this in google map, or any other map
service, you will find the exact location. Directions from nearby area are also
given below), Livermore Valley Cellars Winery (LVC Winery).

Activity:
Playing Go casually, meeting your old friends, making new ones, and tasting
local wines from Livermore. This is not a tournament, just a fun gathering of
go-loving people in the "vicinity" of the S.F. Bay area.

We will provide about 6-7 Go sets. Please bring your own if possible. Past
experiences show we will run short on equipments.

Please feel free to bring family and friends. However, we do not
recommend this activity for young children who are not into playing Go
as there are no alternative recreational facilities at the Winery.

We will be playing at a shaded out-door picnic area. Hats and sun screens are
recommended.

There is no food service at the winery, and the nearest restaurants
and fast food places are in Livermore (1 to 2 miles), so bring your
own lunch and drinks (water and soft drinks). A few snacks are provided.
There will, of course, be wine for tasting and consumption at the Winery.

Fee:
There will be $5.00 entry fee for adults over 21 to cover the raffle prizes.

The Event will be held at Livermore Valley Cellars Winery
(sometimes abbreviated as LVC Winery),
1508 Wetmore Road, Livermore.

LVC is several hundred meters off Wetmore Rd, surrounded by a
new housing development, and it is a little difficult to find.

Note: The few blocks along 1st St where it crosses N/S Livermore Ave
(big flag pole) can have very slow traffic. It is well to turn left
off 1st a few blocks before this intersection and then jog back,
getting onto 2nd, 3rd or 4th, which are parallel to 1st and
from which you will also turn left onto S L St.
