![]() My stones are size 32 from KGT Shape- perfect and uniform, the curves are very well balanced Texture- slate is matt while shell is glossy Color- the shell stones are almost pure white and it contrast the black stones really well on the board Weight- slighly lighter than the slates Overall- PERFECT! *Please take good care of the shell stones expecially when it comes to cleaning. These stones are delicateand seems rather fragile to me. A perfect holiday gift! - Written by halo5
![]() My lovely wife bought me a set of 8mm moon grade stones from KGT this past “holiday season”. I thought they were a great deal at 16,100 yen (about $160), considering that this set could last my lifetime. At first I was concerned that the stones might be a little thinner than I like, but was pleasantly surprised to find they were not. I’ve had several comments at my Go club meeting that others admire the stones as well. Personally, I think the variable grain on moon grade stones both gives the stones some personality and is pleasing to the eye. These stones have not necessarily made me play better, but they definitely add another dimension of enjoyment to my games. beautiful stones! - Written by appleseeds
![]() My shell stones are size 33 (9.2mm) and the thickness feels perfect. The grain does vary from stone to stone, but all have nice lines and some actually look like the pictures of snow grade stones. They are very beautiful. The stones seem to have been flattened a tiny bit on the top and bottom, so they don’t wobble on the board. Shell stones are definitely a luxury and not necessary for enjoying the game, but I’m glad to have purchased them. Beautiful stones - Written by kirkmc
![]() I got moon grade stones with my KGT set, not wanting to spend more for the snow grade. They are truly beautiful – the grain ranges from subtle to pronounced (in other words, there is quite a variety among the stones), and the slate stones are solid and hefty. I got size 31, which is nice; not too thick, not too heavy. Nothing but compliments for KGT’s merchandise and service. Blown away.... - Written by Alan56
![]() I took delivery yesterday (24 Sept 07) of a set of size 34 stones, with keyaki bowls. The white stones have a slightly creamy appearance when viewed from a distance, with well-defined grain lines. There were no chipped or flawed stones in the entire delivery. They are a delight to use – and even just to look at. Beautiful stones! - Written by Codexus
![]() What can I say, they are just beautiful. It’s a real pleasure everytime you use them. Very fine - Written by gowan
![]() I have three sets of slate and shell stones, from different vendors, and my size 35 (9.8mm) moon grade stones from Kuroki are as good as any. I also use glass stones for taking a go set with me, and glass stones are quite serviceable. However, the glass stones are always just a bit out of round or unevely finished. The slate and shell stones are perfectly uniform in thickness and in shape. I never pick one up and think it feels a little different. Suberb! - Written by Hicham
![]() Great quality stones! The stones are very nice. If you don’t consider yourself crazy if you spend some money on this hobby, get these wonderfull stones. The quality is really very high. The packaging is very style and the stones are well protected. Do yourself (and these stones) a favor and give them a nice bowl. Buying them as a set will make it cheaper. The prices are high compared to yunzhi, but this is a other kind of product. Compared to Western vendors Kuroki Goishi is dirt cheap. I become happy thinking about these stones!
