![]() The third book in the “Learn to play go” series is a bit different from the first two. The first part, “Seven danger” and “Eight secrets” provides general go advice like “do not be greedy” with game examples. But at the beginner level this book is intended for, while the ideas themselves make sense it’s difficult to put them into practice. The second part is more interesting: three commented games. The first one an even game, then a 9 stones handicap games and finally a 3 stones game. The idea is to show the beginner some real games to give him an idea on how to play. This is perfect for anyone who has just read volume 2. I wouldn’t recommend getting that book alone, but if you get the volume 2, this one will complete it nicely. ![]() My very first book, and a gift form a friend. Its ok for someone who just has the basics, and it had some good material in it. It is quite shallow, and leaves you feeling both gyped, and desparate for the next book. Its possible any book could have had a similar effect on me, so i’m not much impressed Similar to "Learn to Play Go, Vol. III: The Dragon Style"Learn to Play Go, Vol. IV: Battle Strategies Master Play: The Style of Lee Changho Learn to Play Go, Vol. I: A Master's Guide to The Ultimate Game |
