Get Strong at Tesuji, Get Strong at Go Series, Vol.6, Richard BozulichAll professionals agree! The fastest way to become strong at go is to constantly study tesuji and life-and-death problems. But they also advise you not to study difficult problems. Easy problems, they say, are the most beneficial, even for dan-level players. In other words, quantity of probllems studied rather than difficulty is the key to becoming a strong player. In this way, you will familiarize yourself with the key moves in all kinds of patterns, thereby developing your tesuji intuition and zeroing in on the vital points in your own games. Comments & ReviewsLots of not too difficult problems - Written by SpongeBob
![]() I gave this book 4 stars because you can’t give every book 5 stars. However, I quite like it. It has 534 problems in it with mixed level of difficulty (just as in a real game). There are a few very easy ones (25-10 kyu), mostly intermediate (10-5 kyu), some advanced (5-1 Kyu) and also a few dan level problems. As a KGS 5 kyu, I can solve most of the intermediate problems either at a glace or in less than a minute. (Some of them take me up to 5 minutes, though). Some people say it is better to do lots of easy problems instead of fewer difficult ones. If you think this is true (I do) then this book could be just what you are looking for. The problems are mostly corner positiones and some on the edge and could be positions that actually occur in one of your games. If you find the Tesuji book of the Elementary Go Series a bit difficult, then get this one. Very Fun! - Written by kiseki
![]() I absolutely love problem books, and this one is spectacular. The difficulty rating is very nice for a tesuji book in this case, since it was my first one. There was an effect on my game, and I sorely with I still had it so I could reread it. Handy for quick practice - Written by Shaydwyrm
![]() I really like books like this, which allow you to solve a few problems whenever you have a few free minutes. This book doesn’t cover much unique material, and I found Graded Go Problems for Beginners more useful as a book of problems, but if you’re looking for additional reading exercise this book is solid. Great to pull out on the bus or train on the way to work.
