Official Ing Stones with Bowls,The official stones of the Ing Cup International Tournament. These stones are 10 mm thick, 21.5 mm in diameter. 180 white & 180 black in measuring bowls. Made with plastic material with a metal inserted in the middle of the stones. Quite durable. These stones are not shiny. Comments & Reviewsstones okay for club; bowls a disaster - Written by snorri
![]() The stones I’d rate as average. The bowls, on the other hand, vary from annoying to dangerous. The rotating components break over time and can produce jagged edges. If you are actually playing with Ing rules, you have to keep track of the number of stones, yes, so in that case maybe you have little choice. The idea is clever, but the implementation is very poor. There is no good reason to buy Ing bowls for personal use. Great stones for its price - Written by cuetzpalin
![]() This stones are quite good for its price, however, they do slip more than usual during a game. Obviously, leaving anything inside a car with temperature changes will ruin almost anything. Regards, Israel RN excellent value - Written by funkyj
![]() These stones are a great value! I like them better than glass stones (even the high quality japanese glass stones are not as regular as the Ing stones). These stones are the best value if you want bi-convex stones (Yunzi are the best value if you want flat/convex stones). Good utility set - Written by gowan
![]() These stones are used at most AGA tournaments. They are inexpensive and work OK. I think the plastic is a bit slippery and the stones slide too easily on the board when you are playing. I bought a set of these some years ago to keep in the car so I’d always have a set when I went to the club, but that didn’t work very well because the metal in the core of the stones expanded and contracted due to temperature changes and eventually the stones cracked. Nice basic stones - Written by Hicham
![]() Most people are not too keen on these stones. I really like them. They are durable and quite big and heavy. I prefer them to cheap glass stones. The fact that they make Ing counting (and Chinese coutning) easier is nice. The bowls are a good idea and if it works they are fine, but they easily break or get stuck. Good Club Set - Written by malweth
![]() These stones aren’t a great pleasure to play with, but as a club set they work very well. They have good weight, matte finish, and are easy to count with (Chinese type counting). To count with these stones, keep placing stones to fill all of your territory. If you run out of stones, you’ve won by twice the amount left plus one (plus/minus komi). (I think I’ve got that right ;). See: http://senseis.xmp.net/?IngCounting One thing I had to figure out (the bowls from AGA did not come with instructions) was that the bowl center was pressed down and turned to lock – this lets about half the stones out of the cylindrical holders… then the top of the bowl must be placed underneath, pushing the rest of the stones out. This can get annoying when running out of stones because the lid is spring loaded, making the last layer of stones harder to pick up.
