![]() These bowls: Pros: They contrast beatifully with the shell stones, a little with the slate. I suggest buying them with the Jitsuyo stones off the Bargains and Best Buy of the Month page on KGT. Cons: They’re mildly rough. So, I rate these an easy 5 stars. P.S.-Gowan’s last statement about staining, Kuroki would NEVER (ever, ever) sell something in a set like that that might damage the stones. Nice utility bowls - Written by gowan
![]() I have a set of these bowls that I use with glass stones in my “travelling” set which I keep with a slotted agathis board in a go carrying case in my car. They have a nice appearance and I always get compliments from bystanders when I use them in a public setting. I have heard that they shouldn’t be used with shell stones because resin in the wood can stain the stones. However, Kuroki sells them with shell stones in some of the special offers so perhaps they have been properly sealed. Something to check on if you are planning to use these bowls with slate and shell stones. Ignore or delete - Written by Hicham
