![]() These are very nice bowls. I, too, bought the special offer of these bowls with stones. In my case the fragrance was quite mild from day one. Maybe I got a set of bowls that had been in the warehouse a long time. Anyhow I’ve had them for three years or so and there has been no decline in appearance. For what it is worth the description on the Kuroki site says these bowls have a somewhat coarse grain with a good luster, and a high class appearance. I think they are quite good looking and I like them a lot. The traditional Japanese ranking of aesthetic desirability, which ranks kusu bowls just above chestnut, might not match your own feelings. ![]() These gosu are great quality! The packaging is suberp. The quality and workmanship is exceptional. In the beginning they have quite a strong smell. I kind of like this, but unfortunately it doesn’t remain as strong. Kurokigoishi is a great shop. Get these together with the stones for about Y32000. Beautiful Bowls! - Written by malweth
![]() Purchased with size 34 Moon Grade Stones for 32,000¥. The wood is a nice color – dark brown with the grain and a gold color between the grain. The smell of the wood is also nice, though strong. They are very fragrant when you first get them, but this slowly goes away so that the smell can only be found inside or when they are open. The smell is medicinal (much like menthol).
