 For starters, my bowls are darker than in the above picture. Keyaki bowls are sometimes described as having a warm honey color, and that’s true for mine. I like them a little darker, so I’m happy with them. They do seem to change color slightly depending on the angle that you look at them, which is really cool. They have very tight grain lines that curve slightly and seem to run continuously from the lids onto the bowls, as in the picture. Mine don’t have the extra bead around the edge of the lid, but that doesn’t bother me at all. The bowls are very aesthetically pleasing to look at. The only other wooden bowls I’ve used are chestnut, so I can’t really make comparisons, but I really, really like these keyaki bowls. Superb - Written by Alan56
