The tensai go program is great and worth the price but dont be fooled if you get anoyed by the trial it is only 20 minutes long and you can finish the game…

This program appears to be Go++ under another name. You might like to try it’s own trial program

Awfull trial software that doesn’t uninstall properly. I suggest not installing it in the first place. One to avoid. I would have given it less than 1 star if the option was available.

The actual playing engine was not so bad, the ‘unbalance’ trial software made a potentially pleasant experience horrible. A real medieval trial.

And the first time a computer ever escaped on me! Once those 20 minutes are up (including any set-up time) you’re done!! It should at least let you finish your game – else how will I rate its strength? This was part of the reason I gave it two stars.

I played Level 10 (I am unknown, 3k or better) and I had the feeling it was playing well. I was still ahead (especially once I reached the mid to late mid-game), but its joseki and fuseki was quite good! I can’t comment on any of the other features – I just didn’t have the time with such a limited trial (and I have no plans to purchase the game).

The other reason I gave it only 2 stars is (without testing any interesting features) no AI Go game can yet call itself a "study partner." From my overly short glance, this game does not break that mold. 2 stars is defined as "interesting" which is all this game is. (Plus, GnuGo is free).

I found out about this program when reading the IGS MOTD (it was an ad).
