OK - it's my first go board, so I don't have a broad base of comparison here. I was looking for something nicer than entry level (i.e. not vinyl or particle board), a portable board, a preferably slotted board and a board that wasn't horrifically expensive. This board fit the bill on all counts. The seam is practically invisible and it looks great. It's solid, very playable and didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I'm very pleased with it.
