This volume of about 40 pages is based on a series of articles written for Go Review, the English language Go journal published in Japan from 1961 to 1977. In a lucid and precise way Takagawa lays out the basic principles of correct play that, if followed, will provide the foundation for developing good intuition in common situations on the board. Volume 2 covers attack and defense in various types of situations, such as following some standard joseki, using the 3-3 point, cutting, and making light rather than heavy moves.
