STATS & SKILLS
ANCIENT HISTORY

long time ago (1995) in a land far, far away (a High School in Vermont) there was a kid who found a computer game called "Nemesis." This game played go
very well (about 25 kyu), but he could beat it! He even got a real (card)board with plastic stones, though nobody would play with him. Eventually he gave it up. That computer game didn't play very well anymore, and he grew bored without another player.
GO CAREER

hose times have been left far behind now... but in 2003 the skills from that previous era came back when I discovered Yahoo! Games. It was a stressful time (I started about 3 months before my wedding), but learning something new has always helped me with that. I won a few and lost a few, searched around on the internet for information, and somehow found my way to KGS. My wife hasn't always been as happy with my progress as I have, but by the wedding I was about 19-kyu, and within a month after I had started lessons with Tsurukame (Ion "Mirel" Florescu).

rogress was fairly quick at first, and then it came and went, but eventually I found myself at AGA 2-kyu. I'm at the borderline of Shodan and trying to tsumego my way into the dan ranks! Even with my hate of the KGS ranking changes, perhaps I won't really be happy until I'm well into the KGS dan ranks (or at least AGA 5d). It
will happen, soon or late.
